With multiple Christmas parties in the weeks before December 25, sometimes you just want to leave it to the pros to handle your Christmas day lunch or dinner. Here are a couple of options for restaurants open on Christmas day. (Note that this list does not include Chinese or hotel restaurants, which are normally open anyway)

My Kitchen by Chef Chris – Chris Locher invented the roll-up pizza that’s now been appropriated by a delivery pizza chain and other casual restaurants. Simply called The Original, it’s a must try. This restaurant located at the Oasis Hotel right beside Paco Park might be off the beaten track for most but the hearty Italian fare is definitely worth the trip.

Barcino – What started as a small deli and wine store in Pasig now has multiple branches which are all open on Christmas day. Enjoy typical Spanish fare and tapas with a wide selection of wines.

Brasserie CiÇou – Regular readers will know that this is one of our favorite restaurants. The regular menu features typical French bistro and brassrie fare but Chef Cyrille Soenen occasionally comes up with special dishes from the vast repertoire of classical French Haute Cuisine. If you’ve never had the Kouign Aman dessert from here, you really need to give it a try. All others are pale imitations.

Black Sheep – Perched at the top of the W Building at 5th Ave. in Fort Bonifacio, Black Sheep offers great views of the city and Chef Jordy Navarra’s intricate and clever creations. Whisky pairings are also offered with the menu.

Elbert’s Steak Room – The menu is simple. It’s all about high quality beef. Strictly for carnivores. There’s also a great bar with an excellent selection of cognacs, single malts and bourbons.

Ramen Yushoken – Hands down our favorite ramen joint. Everything here is excellent! No reservations so be sure to line up early as it’s nearly always full.
